EQ8 Recruit has been engaged by a South African leader in cloud and contact centre and CRM solutions seeking to fill the position of an Infrastructure Engineer in Cape Town, South Africa.
Our client seeks to appoint a talented, experienced, and committed Infrastructure Engineer to perform a key role in the maintenance, growth, and support of their cloud infrastructure that delivers services to all their customers.
The role encompasses the deployment and maintenance of all infrastructure required to provide their services to its customers and staff including but not limited to architecture design, documentation, systems testing, installation, security management, continuity management, 2nd line support and escalation to upstream partners, change control management and asset management.

Summary of Required Skills and Competencies to be shortlisted: -
- National Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent Degree/Diploma.
- Microsoft Server Certification (2012 R2, 2016 and 2019 Administrator).
- Linux Certification (Linux Certified Professional or similar).
- Dell SAN/Server Administration.
- VOIP / SIP.
- Networking / Diagnostic / Wireshark.
- Windows Clustering and Windows Servers (2012, 2016 and 2019).
- Backup and Recovery.
- Internet Information Services (IIS).
- Nagios and Monitoring.
- Linux (Ubuntu).
- Helpdesk and Support Experience.
- Technical Problem Solving.
- Vmware Vsphere / ESXi.
- Disaster Recovery/Risk Management.
The role responsibilities will include, (but not limited to): -
- Infrastructure Maintenance including system performance monitoring, system backups, and proactive PROBLEM management
- Infrastructure Projects including planning, testing, and execution of new builds/upgrades/updates/moves and changes.
- Infrastructure Support including troubleshooting and incident resolution for tickets escalated by 1st Line Engineers. This includes escalation to Upstream Vendors.
- Infrastructure Change Control, including planning, submission, and execution of all changes agreed to as per published Change Control Processes.
- Infrastructure Administration including the creation and maintenance of documentation as and when required including but not limited to Architecture diagrams, maintenance schedules, support documentation and version control registers.
- IT Management including asset registration, equipment version control, equipment configuration to agreed standards, and general IT support for users.
