The key purpose of this role Information and project management backbone to Zone Insights Managers; provide high quality insights, consistent outputs in a timely and efficient way.

Key outputs and responsibilities:
  • Answer business questions through data analytics leveraging sales information, media, consumer sentiment, brand health, category guidance and retail audit data.
  • Manage research projects, end to end (from brief to presentation and recommendations), including pack testing, creative testing, innovation, brand health etc.
  • Create reports to support key brand and business decisions.
  • Recommend study design aligned to business needs and questions, research protocols, and work with agency to develop necessary research materials such as questionnaires and discussion guides .
  • Demonstrate best practice in all areas of research planning and implementation including:
  • Ensure an accurate and detailed brief is agreed prior to engaging research agencies .
  • Effectively leverages existing knowledge and judgement to address business issues prior to conducting new research.
  • Ensure actionable recommendations for operational use of research results within the business.
  • Timely completion of research studies within agreed budget.
  • Lead product sourcing and transport logistics for product research studies.
  • Budget management to ensure monthly spend is in line with approved LEs.
  • Routine agency management and training co-ordination for Insights Team and/or external agencies.
Profile:
  • Proactive, ambitious self-starter with a passion for continuous improvement .
  • At least 2 years research experience ideally with experience within Africa / other CPG companies .
  • Excellent numerical, analytical and planning ability.
  • Concise storyteller.
  • Commercially astute, with experience across all core research and analytical techniques.
  • Strong project management skills and demonstrated end-to-end diligence, excellence and leadership.
  • Demonstrated agility, implement change effectively and ability to provoke with empathy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple and concise manner .
  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
