Instructional and Learning Designer (JB3544) Century City, Cape Town Market-Related/Negotiable/Competitive Seeking a dedicated Instructional and Learning Designer to join our team in Century City, Cape Town. As an Instructional and Learning Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience by leading the planning, development, and management of learning materials and storyboards. Collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders, you will design engaging learning activities that enrich the student learning journey, ensuring their success. This role demands a profound understanding of learning science, instructional design theories, and their application in online course development, with a focus on enhancing the Learning Management System (LMS), course materials, and website content. Job Requirements: Relevant Qualification and higher education tertiary experience Proven Portfolio: Demonstrated experience in successfully completing online courses and degrees. Storyboarding: Proficiency in storyboarding for online courses. Learning Expertise: An extensive grasp of learning practices and theories. Higher Education Knowledge: Familiarity with instructional design models tailored for Higher Education. Planning Skills: Ability to design lessons and curricula effectively. Software Proficiency: Knowledge of course development software, preferably Articulate 360 (especially Rise). Tech Savvy: Familiarity with online systems. Copywriting: Strong copywriting and instructional text creation skills. Quality Assurance: Proficient in copy, fact-checking, and maintaining accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership: Drive and oversee online projects, providing support to internal stakeholders. Multitasking: Manage multiple online-related projects concurrently. Collaboration: Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to deliver online course content. Instructional Design: Apply established Instructional and Learning Design theories, practices, and methods to guide the storyboarding process. Content Enhancement: Develop exercises and activities that enhance the learning experience. Support Materials: Assist in creating supplementary materials to bolster learning outcomes. LMS Oversight: Review and provide support for the Learning Management System (LMS). Quality Assurance: Conduct proofreading and course testing to ensure high-quality content. Engaging Content: Create captivating learning activities and compelling course materials to improve retention and knowledge transfer. Audience Focus: Identify and address the specific training needs of the target audience. Research: Conduct instructional research and analyze learner and content data. Online Course Exploration: Research and stay updated on trends and developments in online courses. Administration: Ensure timely delivery and receipt of course content.
