About The Role
As a Automation and Instrument Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes in Kerry Hammarsdale by installing, maintaining, and repairing critical measuring and control devices.
Key responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair a wide range of instrumentation, including pneumatic, electronic, and microcomputer devices used to measure and control pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force, and chemical composition.
- Provide technical support for variable speed drives, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces) from various manufacturers (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network switches, cables, and IT equipment.
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation.
- Trade certificate as an Instrument Mechanician is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding and experience with control systems, including SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and PLCs.
- Extensive technical knowledge of instrumentation, HAZOP studies (Hazard and Operability Studies), P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and quality standards.
- Experience with SAP is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
