Job Summary
To plan, execute and manage audit assignments in accordance with the country and Group Audit plan and relevant policies, procedures and quality standards. The Audit Manager is responsible for the quality of the audit work performed and the efficiency and effectiveness of the audit team.

Accountabilities:
- Assign audit and line management responsibilities, providing direction and guidance to direct reports while maintaining an in-depth knowledge of activities in the Financial Control and Tax areas.
- Maintaining an inclusive working relationship with the Finance Management stakeholders including the Head of Financial Control, Head of Internal Reporting, Head of Tax, Chief Financial Officers as well as colleagues, emphasizing open dialogue, complete transparency, and professional rapport.
- Provide specialist support and lead discussions with senior leaders in the BU / Function regarding audit observations and issues, consulting with colleagues across IA where required. Act in an advisory capacity without undermining the independence of the Function to ensure client and customer viewpoints are considered in decision making and recommendations
- Keep up to date with key regulations, policies and procedures relating to the IFRS and Tax Regulations (ARO and SA) to ensure appropriately check and challenge with stakeholders and provide advise to the IA function accordingly.
- Responsible for providing the specialist assurance opinion to support Regulatory requirements within the Finance Management portfolio. Further, these include statements on the Group's financial controls for the Chief Internal Auditor to present at the Group Audit and Compliance Committee.
- Discussing financial and regulatory matters with key stakeholders to outline standards and recommend the best strategies to correct problems.
- NQF Level 6: B Degree
- B Degree (Accounting, Finance, Tax)
- B Degree Honours (Accounting, Finance, Tax)
- Completed / Completing CA (SA), CIA, CISA or international equivalents
- Relevant banking industry qualification (e.g. SA Institute of Bankers)
- 4-5 years experience in Internal/External audit or commensurate experience in a major financial institution
- 2 years experience in risk based auditing or risk/control activities.
- Experience of managing a team
- Big 4 Completed Articles experience
- International experience either gained through working overseas or substantial assignment based international experience
- Banking experience either gained through auditing or line management
