INVENTORY CONTROLLER
About the job:
A job vacancy for an Inventory Controller is available at Pioneer Plastics (pty) Ltd.
The main purpose of the role is to manage inventory levels for the business, develop inventory management systems, maintain stock levels, and coordinate logistics of orders and transfers.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor stock levels between the manufacturing system (MMS) and financial system (Evolution) to identify stock issues.
- Report on stock levels including limited levels, variances, movement, and risks.
- Perform counts and ensure all inventory is accounted for.
- Assess inventory output on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
- Manage cycle counts (spot checks) of inventory on regular basis to ensure the accuracy of stock levels.
- Updating of stock on the system versus actuals via stock adjustments.
- Perform inventory stock counting/inventory accuracy checks/cyclic stock checks.
- Review Bill of Materials (BOM’) and change control ECR) where issues have been identified.
- Produce daily reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled.
- Implement loss prevention measures that address stock inaccuracies and discrepancies.
- Run bill-level cost updates for accuracy in product costing.
- Procurement backup for the buyer as and when required.
- Assist with annual price increases and ad-hoc tasks in the Finance department.
Qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Matric certificate is essential.
- 3-year National Diploma: Stock Management, Business Administration, or similar.
- 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Administrative skills.
- Computer literate.
