Role Summary
Supports strategic planning activities, special projects, and performance analysis for businesses within the Investor Relations, Broker Research, and Sustainability businesses.
Impact
As a Business Manager you will be a critical adviser to a senior leader(s) within the IRBRS business, conducting detailed analyses and supporting business planning and operations. Business Managers demonstrate an analytical mindset, a highly technical skillset, and a bias towards action. The role offers high levels of visibility, partnership with senior leaders and their teams, exposure to product lifecycles, market sizing and business operations, and ultimately, the opportunity to inform strategic decision making and solve complex problems within high growth businesses.
Business Operations Associate Responsibilities
- Build annual and long-term business & forecast outlooks for existing businesses and new initiatives
- Present strategic analyses to executive stakeholders across Product, Business, and Finance
- Ensure trends are well understood via regular reporting and analysis and develop accurate forecasts to drive accountability
- Collaborate on projects with a range of Finance, Product and/or Business leaders
- Identify and drive critical initiatives to support go-to market strategy and synergy targets
- Provide objective recommendations on business strategy, financials, and operations
- Conduct ad hoc analysis as needed
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to build credibility as a partner to senior leaders and their teams globally
- Highly skilled at synthesizing business insights and problem solving
- Ability to support strategy through analytics:
- Objectively identify trends in data
- Interpret and communicate observations
- Make recommendations for action
- Impeccable attention to detail with the ability to simplify complex information and to communicate clearly in verbal and written forms
- Proactive can-do attitude paired with outstanding collaboration skills including openness to diverse perspectives and desire to learn from others
- Stewardship of S&P Global culture and commitment to contributing with integrity, humility, creativity and a growth mindset
- BS/BA degree in Accounting, Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Economics, Statistics, or related discipline
- 2+ years of experience in business strategy or finance
- Adept at building relationships with people across all levels and many functions
- Experience working in a complex, fast-paced environment and prioritizing multiple workstreams at the same time
- Experience with SQL preferred
- Experience partnering with executive leadership preferred
