Good day,
Hope you are well.
My name is Murendeni, and I am an aspiring Data Analyst, born and raised in South Africa. I studied Chemistry in university and worked in the chemical production industry for 7 years. During this period, I learned a lot of transferable skills such as troubleshooting, analyzing, collaborating with team members and communication skills. In June 2023 I, together with my family, moved to the UK. I have always loved to work with technology but because of limited options and knowledge I ended up studying chemistry, but my love for data and technology persisted. Once I moved to the UK, I saw it as a chance to change careers and opportunities to do so were available, being a person who is not afraid of new challenges I decided this was the right time for me to become a Data Analyst.
Generation Data Analytics bootcamp helped me bridge the gap from chemistry to data analytics. During my time at Generation, we embarked on an intensive learning Program to develop essential technical, behavioral, soft skills and preparation for the employment environment. It is here where I learned and used Data Analytics tools like SQL, Excel, Python, Power BI, and Power Platforms. I worked on two projects with colleagues during the programme: AdventureWorks and Olist store project. During the AdventureWorks project, I utilized my SQL expertise to analyze the performance of different countries, examine relationships between variables, and identify trends. Subsequently, Python was employed to visualize and illustrate the findings, making them more accessible and aiding in trend identification. In the second project focused on Olist store datasets, I once again applied SQL for analyzing historical sales trends, assessing customer sentiments, and evaluating the impact of delivery times on customer satisfaction. The outcomes of these analyses were effectively presented using Power BI, showcasing key findings and insights. In addition to honing technical skills, the program placed significant emphasis on cultivating essential soft skills, including effective communication, teamwork, strategic planning, and a future-oriented approach. Engaging in collaborative projects with colleagues provided practical application of these skills, particularly in a dynamic learning environment. The combination of skills acquired during the program, coupled with the soft skills developed through prior work experience, has significantly enhanced, and refined both my technical expertise and interpersonal capabilities. This dual proficiency positions me as a versatile professional ready to excel in diverse and challenging environments.
This role aligns seamlessly with my skills and passion for data analytics, cultivated during my time at Generation. I am eager to learn and enthusiastic about contributing to the team,
leveraging the skills acquired in data analytics, and embracing new challenges with a proactive mindset. My dedication to continuous improvement, coupled with a passion for staying abreast of evolving technologies and processes in the dynamic field of data analytics, positions me to hit the ground running and be an asset to the team. I am committed to enhancing my skills continuously to provide the team with the most effective and informed contributions in our collaborative work.
I have attached my CV for your review and consideration. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to discuss my qualifications further and explore how my skills align with the needs of the role. Should you require any additional information or clarification, please feel free to contact me at your convenience. Thank you for considering my application, and I look forward to the possibility of contributing to your team.
