Job Description & Summary

The Cyber Threat Defence team is a senior team of engineers that develop, socialize, and deploy novel mitigations to counter threat activity observed in Incident Response operations and Threat Intelligence. This senior technical role utilizes a unique mix of security engineering, penetration testing, and incident response tradecraft to improve the security of the PwC network of firms. Candidates will excel in business communication and messaging in addition to technical disciplines.

6 year(s) of experience in progressive professional roles involving information security and/or IT management.

Certification(s) Preferred:

• GIAC (GCFA, GCFE, GNFA, GPEN, GXPN, GMON, etc)
• Offensive Security (OSCP, OSCE), SpectreOps, Zero Point Security, and related offensive security training
• Microsoft, Google, and Amazon cloud certifications
• Leadership and management training
• All DFIR, offensive security, development, infrastructure, and malware analysis training and certifications are valued and considered.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

Demonstrates intimate abilities and/or a proven record of success as a team leader:

• Showcasing knowledge in computer networking, operating systems (both Windows and Unix based operating systems), virtualization (cloud and on-premise), and modern architecture (containers, orchestration, CI/CD, etc);
• Understanding of investigative theory and best practices for effective analysis with an ability to coach, lead, and develop others in these areas;
• Utilizing advanced Incident Response skills, including host/network forensics, log analysis, and timeline correlation, are valued but not a prerequisite;
• Exhibiting an advanced understanding of common attack methodologies;
• Training, direct experience, or at a minimum ongoing interest in penetration testing;
• Being able to conduct experiments utilizing tools and techniques to enhance the effectiveness in detection and mitigation development;
• Understanding and application of the Cyber Kill Chain Framework, MITRE ATT&CK, and other industry frameworks;
• Utilizing training opportunities by collaborating with peers and training junior analysts;
• Exhibiting genuine motivation to learn and grow in this field and in own career;
• Acting with integrity, empathy, and diligence in the execution of the role of an Incident Response manager, analyst or other related role;
• Utilizing effective written and verbal communication, including proper use of escalation, persuasion, briefings, and presentations;
• Building effective relationships with stakeholders and colleagues;
• Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks; and,
• Acting as an escalation point for junior members.

Compensation range: $140, 500-$234, 000 plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.

Compensation range: $131, 000 - $205, 000 plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.

For Applicants Residing in New York City or Westchester County, NY
Compensation range: $149, 500-$234, 000 plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.

Compensation range: $149, 500-$234, 000 plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
