Your Tasks
Objectives
The IT Support Technician will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting JUWI Renewable Energies technology related hardware, software and connectivity needs. This position will have line management reporting to the Business Administration Manager and functional reporting to the Chief Information Officer based at our Headquarters in Germany.
Primary Responsibilities
- First line of technical support to all company computer users.
- Creating support tickets for all IT issues and user requests including finding and implementation of solutions via direct action or immediate escalation.
- Provide technical support for printers, copiers, scanners and other equipment both in the office and on site.
- Oversee the efficiency and reliability of the companys local servers, software and networking devices and support the IT team in Germany with the deployment and installation of the operating system and applications to desktops via Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
- Maintain companys LAN and WAN systems including scheduling maintenance, performing troubleshooting activities and completing repairs in conjunction with IT Germany.
- Monitor, track and maintain software application licenses in conjunction with IT Germany.
- Maintaining and ordering equipment.
- Maintain IT inventory register and ensure that it is kept up to date.
- Manage user accounts and work with HR and Admin teams with regards to issuing and returning of all IT assets.
- Offer practical support to users, teaching them how to use solutions correctly.
- Be an active member of the IT team to ensure that the IT needs of the South African business are highlighted at a group level.
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers.
Qualifications And Experience
- Matric with accredited National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology.
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in end user and application support.
- Experience with ticketing tools and Incident Management.
- Demonstrated experience supporting, implementing, and administering networks including Microsoft Windows Active Directory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly customer focused and proactive work habits with ability to work both independently and within a team (international).
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Able to exercise discretion and confidentiality with sensitive material and information.
- Knowledge of SCADA, VPN and network design advantageous.
- Work toward obtaining MCSE, MCSA or similar certification.
- Basic Cisco networking/voice skills advantageous.
- Knowledge of M365 administration and MS Teams end user support.
