To support the Corporate Finance team with conducting key operational finance activities such as month-end & year-end close processes, design & maintenance of financial control policies and procedures, travel expense management and recording of transactions. Key customers include Finance Controllers, Senior Finance Business Partners, Finance System & Tax Business partner, GL Accountant, Accounts Payable Lead, Auditors and head office cross functional business partners.
Key Outcomes & Responsibilities
Operational Finance Activities
- Complies with company policies and procedures with regards to operational financial procedures and ensures that financial transactions for all companies (and related divisions) are appropriately recorded within SAP ERP system in accordance with accounting rules & policies.
- Review and reconcile various GL control and clearing accounts which includes intercompany transactions.
- Assists with automating general ledger related processes and procedures (such as Electronic Data Interfaces EDI and reconciliations).
- Investigate & analyze financial transactions to detect errors and anomalies and remediation thereof.
- Builds strong relationships and fosters teamwork within Finance department, co-workers and auditors to achieve team objectives (financial controls, timely reporting, accuracy, integrity of company financial performance and financial position).
- Partners with Senior Finance Business Partner and Finance System & Tax Business Partner to ensure successful implementation of systematic controls and processes.
- Minimum qualification B.Com Accounting Degree or related.
- Strong understanding of Accounting Processes.
- FMCG industry experience a plus, but not required.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work additional hours during peak sessions.
- Numerical and analytical.
- Ability to work effectively within teams.
- Strong business partnering skills.
- SAP ERP finance system and Computer Literate (advanced Excel skills)
- Organized, deadline drive, high attention to detail.
