Line Manager: Senior Financial Manager
Job Specification
Ensuring accurate and timeous financial reporting
- Management of the month-end and year end reporting process
- Prepare/Review monthly, interim, ad-hoc and year end reporting required, including actual, forecast and budget results.
- Report on financial statement variances and provide necessary commentary.
- Monthly maintenance of general ledger, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Ensure month end procedures are adhered to according to predetermined deadlines in order to submit accurate and timeous results.
- Manage local and foreign cashflow (forecasts and payments).
- Completion and submission of the provisional tax returns, the annual tax return and the monthly VAT return ensuring returns meet statutory tax requirements.
- Completion of the Annual Financial Statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Manage and monitor company accounting procedures, policies and internal controls.
- Assistance with ad hoc requests from business and various finance projects.
- Ensures teams have competent team members with the required technical skill, knowledge, and behavioural requirements to fit the culture and contribute to team success.
- Defines clear roles, accountabilities, outputs, and performance standards for others to work towards.
- Holds people accountable, gives feedback, recognises good performance, and manages poor performance.
- Ensure finance departments Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are documented and implemented.
- Focus on innovation, improvement and efficiency.
- Manage external and internal audits and resolve any issues/findings timeously in order to improve our internal control environment.
Minimum Requirements
Qualification & Experience:
- CA (SA) with at least 1 years relevant post articles experience (Essential)
- Understand and adhere to systems of internal control
- Clear understanding of financial controls and importance of data integrity
- Good understanding of all local current tax and VAT regulations
- Financial, analytical and reporting skills (IFRS knowledge)
- Intermediate SAP knowledge practical application
- Advanced Excel
- Skilled people manager/leader
- Proven practical management skills
- Understanding of systems and how these impact on the business
- Compile, monitor, and examine all reports for accuracy and integrity and conformance to accepted accounting and program guidelines
