Climate Fund Managers (CFM) is a climate-focused blended finance investment manager operating across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. CFM raises and deploys blended climate finance funds, working in partnership to deliver climate-resilient solutions at scale and pace. With over USD 2 billion in assets under management and targeting an additional USD 6 billion, CFMs private equity and private credit facilities address key areas of climate change mitigation and adaptation, including renewable energy, green hydrogen, energy transmission, water and sanitation, and biodiversity and oceans infrastructure. CFMs funds are supported by public and private sector organisations, with public capital deployed strategically to balance risk and mobilize private sector capital, enabling investment across the project lifecycle - from development to construction and operation.

Established in 2015, CFM is a joint venture between Dutch development bank FMO and Sanlam InfraWorks of the Sanlam Group of South Africa, with offices in The Hague, Cape Town, Singapore, and Bogot.

We are seeking an Accountant to join our Finance and Fund Administration team. The role will take ownership of the assigned legal entities from an operational, audit, tax and compliance perspective and will support the Senior Finance Manager in executing various financial accounting aspects of the CFM Group entities which are multi-currency and domiciled in multiple countries.

The role will be based in CFMs Africa office location in Claremont, Cape Town, South Africa.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Manage Accounts Payable and Accruals
Review expense claims, credit card reconciliations and creditors reconciliations
Verify invoices, code and allocate invoices per chart of account and capture entries in the accounting system (Microsoft Dynamics) for review
Capture payments made and reconcile creditors age analysis, ensuring creditors paid per payment terms
Maintain the creditors database.
Assist in preparing expense reports for monthly reporting.
Maintain records of creditors invoices and other supporting information for audit and tax purposes
Manage Sundry Debtors and prepare invoices for review
Banking & Treasury
Prepare bank payments, including international payments
Reconcile bank accounts (USD, EUR, ZAR, SGD, COP)
Journal Entries
Prepare and post entries for Bank, Debtors, Creditors, and general journals
Maintain records for audit and tax purposes
Operations support and reporting
Assist with the internal and external audit
Assist with business planning and forecasting
Preparation of VAT/Corporate Tax/Withholding tax returns
Maintain fixed asset registers and lease calculations
Assist with preparation of financial statements
Assist CFM team with special ad-hoc reporting requirements and requests

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
Proficient in financial reporting tools and strong Excel skills
Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience would be advantageous
Experience in multicurrency environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced performance driven environment
Investment/asset management industry experience advantageous
