General Description Of The Role
As a Brand Specialist at Campari Group South Africa, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans on priority categories, including Cognac, Tequila, and Champagne. Your responsibilities include developing brand strategies and plans, executing marketing campaigns, managing budgets, brand training/education, relationship management, monitoring brand performance, managing budgets, and ensuring brand compliance. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field, 2+ years of experience in brand management or marketing, strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
You will work closely with the Marketing Manager, creative agencies, and cross-functional teams to drive brand growth, increase market share, and grow brand love.
Key Responsibilities And Activities
- Brand strategy development: Collaborate with global brand teams to adapt and execute brand strategies tailored to the South African market, considering local consumer preferences, cultural nuances, and competitive landscape.
- Marketing Campaign Management: Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of marketing campaigns and activations to elevate brand awareness, drive consumer engagement, and ultimately increase sales.
- Channel & Customer Marketing Support: Support CCM to develop and implement trade marketing programs, promotions, and incentives that drive brand visibility, availability, and sales in both on- and off-trade channels.
- Consumer Engagement and Activations: Develop and execute consumer engagement initiatives, events, and activations that resonate with your target audiences, leveraging both traditional and digital channels.
- Partnership and Sponsorship Management: Identify and leverage strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations with local influencers, events, and organizations to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
- Brand Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), sales data, and market share trends to assess brand performance, campaign effectiveness, and ROI, and provide regular reports and insights to management.
- Brand Advocacy and Training: Champion brand values, messaging, and best practices internally and externally, providing training and support to sales teams, distributors, and brand ambassadors to ensure consistent brand representation and execution (Executed in collaboration with the Brand Advocates)
- Compliance and Regulatory Management: Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies in all brand marketing and promotional activities, and proactively address any legal or regulatory challenges.
- Budget Management: Manage brand budgets effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve marketing objectives and maximize ROI.
- Market Analysis and Insights: Conduct market research, consumer behavior analysis, and competitor benchmarking to identify market opportunities and inform strategic brand decisions.
- Innovation: You will lead innovation for your respective brands.
- Internal: SA Marketing Manager, Global Strategic Marketing teams; SA Channel & Customer Marketing specialists; SA Commercial Team; SA Finance Team; SA Supply Chain Manager; Global Brand PR; Global Media Planning, Global Consumer Insights.
- External: Creative/Influencer/PR agencies; Media agency; Key Influencers and consumers.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field
- 2+ years of experience in brand marketing, with evidence of executing successful campaigns in previous roles.
- Strong strategic, analytical, and creative ability
- Strong bias for action and a hunger for growth
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of the South African market and consumer preferences (Experience in Johannesburg would be a plus)
- Experience in the spirits industry and/or experience working on luxury brands is preferred.
