Sanlam Life and Savings (SLS) is focused on serving our retail and corporate clients in South Africa and further developing our strategic advantages in the South African market. Sanlam Life and Savings consists of three clusters - Sanlam Corporate, Sanlam Retail Mass and Sanlam Retail Affluent. The Sanlam Life and Savings Office provides strategic direction, coordination and support to the three clusters, as well as performing governance oversight that includes assurance provided by second line of defense functions in SLS, to enable us to meet our business objectives.
Role Description

As a member of the SBI Customer Data Hub you'll be responsible for end-to-end tasks within the data analysis framework, working closely with business representatives, product owners, and other stakeholders to define and elicit requirements, analyze data, and assist developers in creating information. What will you do?
Key result areas
Data Preparation
- Ensure all data is of a high quality and is fit for purpose for easy interpretation by the business.
- This is achieved through data wrangling, data cleaning, data integration, data transformation, data profiling, data mapping, data quality assurance, data modelling, data governance, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), data warehousing, data validation.
- Conduct data analysis and visualisation for business consumption.
- This is achieved through data exploration, statistical analysis, predictive modelling, machine learning, data storytelling, dashboard design, KPI (Key Performance Indicators) creation, data mining, business intelligence.
- Provide a data analysis service to various stakeholders across the business to solve various business problems.
- This is achieved through high quality communication, collaboration, active listening, stakeholder management, project management, facilitation, presentation skills, requirements gathering, business analysis, problem-solving, critical thinking, and customer service.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric
- Bachelors degree (preferred) or related NQF 6 qualification (required) in a relevant field e.g. statistics, data or computer science, engineering.
- 3 - 5 years+ of experience in analytics, data modelling and data profiling (intermediate level)
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting and visualisation software, databases and querying
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
- Financial services experience is advantageous.
