Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. The primary purpose of this role is to analyse complex data sets, extract meaningful insights, and provide actionable recommendations to support strategic decision-making within our organization.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into valuable information, enabling us to drive business growth, enhance operational efficiency, and gain a competitive edge.
Key Responsibilties
- Accountable for gathering and documenting business and data quality rules as well as reporting, dashboarding, data model and non-functional requirements.
- Work across all stakeholders to source and onboard new data including data and technology teams to manage data acquisition, ETL requirements and co-ordinate testing and validation of data feeds.
- Coaching and training of business users to leverage the solutions that have been developed
- Continuously engage with business stakeholders to iteratively improve performance indicators, metrics and processes.
- Building relationships with all key stakeholders this includes business owners, product managers, development teams, trainers and users
- Perform ad hoc analysis, insight requests, and data extractions to resolve critical business issues and/or share business improvements through insights developed by analytics.
- Troubleshoot data-related problems and recommend maintenance or modifications
- Produce clear and comprehensive delivery artefacts such as high level and detailed requirements, business process maps, user stories and user interface specifications
- Develop logical data solutions, including data integration and interoperability needs, for the data use cases.
- Design proof of concept and support data engineers and other team members during build to ensure delivery, Independently or collaboratively specify, map and model data
- Analyse existing internal and external data sources, including our enterprise data warehouse to identify and source existing data that can be applied to use cases
- Use enterprise data quality and governance tooling to align to fit for purpose governance is applied on all analytical products include the use of enterprise data quality and governance frameworks to identify and resolve data quality issues
- Either test directly or oversee testing phases and quality assure final output
- Facilitate implementation and delivery to stakeholders
- Communicates Effectively: Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical techniques.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data quality assurance practices
- At least 5 years experience as a Business Intelligence analyst
- Strong SQL skills required
- Data warehousing and related methodologies experience required
- Exposure to data lake and in-memory computing technologies preferred
- Experience in the Financial Industry preferred
- Experience in Investments highly advantageous
- Honours degree in business/ information technology preferred
- Exposure to Marketing analytics, Customer analytics, Strategy development, Digital campaigns, Report development, Product analytics, Customer development and Client engagement advantageous
- Experience in agile development desired
- Experience working with Business Intelligence and reporting packages (like SAP Web Intelligence or Power BI) preferred
