We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer (with 2-3 years of experience) to join our client and contribute to the successful operation of their new and existing solar PV plants. Our client provides a complete suite of services for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of solar plants, along with inclusive performance assurances, and has installed over 200 solar power plants. So far, they have achieved the successful commissioning of over 150 solar and storage projects in the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.

Education Requirements
- A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field would be preferred, but not essential
- Any relevant certifications or courses related to solar PV commissioning would be advantageous
- Proven experience in commissioning solar PV sites is required
- Sound knowledge and hands-on experience with MODBUS communication systems are required
- PLC programming experience would be considered a strong advantage
- Familiarity with multiple inverter brands, particularly Huawei, Sungrow, SolarEdge, and SMA, is highly desirable
- Experience in fault finding and troubleshooting in solar PV systems is a non-negotiable
As a Commissioning Engineer, your main responsibilities will include conducting commissioning activities for solar PV sites. This will involve performing the following tasks such as ensuring proper functioning and integration of solar PV systems during the commissioning phase. Conduct system testing, including performance analysis and fault identification. Collaborate with the project team to address any technical issues and provide effective solutions. Prepare comprehensive commissioning reports and documentation. Provide support during certain aspects of operations and maintenance. Ensure that assigned outputs are delivered on time and within budget. Generating operating procedures for projects. Updating existing operating procedures for plant modifications. Interfacing with the relevant disciplines to ensure that the commissioning procedures are in line with the design requirements. Assisting with inputs for proposal submissions, along with test, commissioning, and operating procedures.
