Job Summary
EQ8 Recruit has been engaged to help recruit a Imports and Exports Compliance Officer. This is a brand new role and will report directly to the General Manager - Materials Planning. The Imports and Exports Compliance Officer will cover four functional areas: customs applications, import documentation control, export documentation control and compliance training.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for this role, you have the following skills and experience, but not limited to:-
- Minimum Qualifications: Customs Compliance qualification
- Ideal Qualification: Btech or related degree
- MS Excel (Advanced level)
- In-depth knowledge of import/export regulations and laws
- 3-5 years experience with customs processes
- Experience in working with a Rebate store
- Experience in an integrated ERP system (Syspro would be an advantage)
- Must be familiar with customs documentation
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:-
Regulatory Compliance
- Stay up-to-date with import and export regulations, trade laws and international agreements
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations set forth by customs authorities, trade commissions, and other relevant government agencies
- Accurately classify products according to the Harmonized System (HS) codes
- Managing the rebate register
- Approving clearing instructions
- Reviewing of stock coming up for expiry
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of import and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin and other required documents.
- Liaise with Procurement and Warehousing on VOC issues
- Submission of Abandonment applications
- Expediting required documents within the 90-day period of export
- Reporting required to manage the export documentation process
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for employees involved in import and export activities
- Implement internal compliance audits to identify potential issues and ensure adherence to import and export regulations
- Handle incidents of non-compliance
- Conduct risk assessments related to international trade activities
- Manage risk in Materials Planning by ensuring all SOPs are aligned with business requirements (not limited to Import/Export compliance)
- Prepare new SOPs for Materials Planning team
- Audit SOPs on a regular basis
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the PDM process and implement solutions to enhance data quality, streamline workflows and increase overall efficiency.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that product data management practices adhere to relevant industry standards and compliance requirements
- Adhoc Duties when required
