Accountant (Fixed-term Contract)

Role Responsibilities And Key Focus Areas
  • Provide accurate accounting reports to management timeously.
  • Responsible for various month-end and year-end reports.
  • Participate in the bi-weekly finance team meeting and ensure action points are followed.
  • Assisting with the annual external- and B-BEEE audit.
  • Reconciliation of inter-company balances.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of bank accounts and reconciliation of transactions.
  • Procurement of suppliers and obtaining the relevant supporting documents.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of accounting entries posted to General Ledger, including the monthly processing of supplier invoices, and supporting documentation.
  • Responsible for the finance approval of monthly payroll transactions.
  • Ensuring that internal financial processes are followed and adhered to.
  • Resolve any discrepancies or irregularities found in the accounting records, statements, or documented transactions.
  • Keep up to date with financial policies, regulations and tax legislation.
  • Monitoring the efficiency of accounting control procedures or software programs.
  • Streamline and recommend improvements to current systems and processes.
  • Develop and document new business processes and keep the processes up to date.

  • BCom Degree and completed SAICA Articles
  • Exposure to Accounting systems e.g. Xero
