Truworths has an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager with Retail and Contracts experience. This role will be based at our head office in Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage project construction programme
- Prepare and manage project budget
- Ensure that all stores are built to the Company's standards
- Liaise with developers and project teams to ensure that the premises are developed in accordance with the agreed specification
- Survey proposed new sites and give feedback to Properties with respect to the extent of leasehold work required
- Give advice and assistance to Divisions with major repairs and maintenance issues
- Assist with the exportation of shopfitting elements from South Africa to relevant African countries
- Liaise with external energy consultants & internal store operations teams regarding the energy conservation initiatives in stores
- Prepare reports for the Board and various relevant committees relating to feedback of the energy conservation initiatives
- No direct reports at this stage
- Experience as a Quality Surveyor and Project Manager
- Matric and relevant qualification
- Minimum 5 years of relevant recent working experience
- Retail Project Management experience in Africa and experience of managing projects on the ground, sourcing local contractors and materials etc.
- Experience in dealing with contractors etc.
- An understanding of exporting and shipping of shopfitting beyond the borders of South Africa
- An awareness of energy conservation options that are available in the retail environment
