Purpose of Job
Provide a comprehensive cost control service to the whole IM department. Support the Cost Control Specialist to act as a central point of accountability for control on operational and capital cost. Provide a high-quality cost control support on all IM operational expenditures. Support monthly reporting of actual cost performance versus budget or forecast. Ensure that proper supply chain governance is adhered to in all requests.
Maintain high standard of cost reporting by ensuring that costs are properly booked against correct cost elements. Ensure that dates on all opened purchase orders are updated to align to service delivery.
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
- Create all types of purchasing requisitions (PRs) making use of correct cost codes and cost elements, ensure they are being released in time
- Communicate overdue commitment report with service providers and relevant platform owners, liaise with supply chain to either extend delivery dates or close off purchase orders
- Follow up with service providers to ensure invoices are received and posted in time
- Extract created service entries and follow up with platform owners to timeously act on them
- Compile cost incurred on behalf of other OMEs to ensure finance recover all before close of period every month
- Have monthly engagement with IM strategic vendors, share Sasol payment schedule dates with them for proper reconciliation
- Assist line manager to compile cost control report for monthly business review
- Actively participate in making Sasol financial half year and year end successful, be willing to work overtime during this period
- Have knowledge of Supply Chain PtP process ensure that IM is adhering fully to the five cardinal rules for suppliers
National Diploma in Accounting or Supply Chain Management with 5 years experience
OR
University Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Supply Chain Management with 3 or more relevant years
