Your job as the Data Team Leader, is to lead the efforts of the domain focused, cross functional squad that is established to create the clarity, foresight, understanding, and interventions that keep us flying in the right direction.
Inspire, motivate and plan so your squad delivers quality at high velocity.
Engage fully across the domain you are responsible for to ensure that the maximal value is being extracted from the OfferZen data assets. Inform the team's stakeholders with data insights so that the right questions are being asked and high quality data driven solutions are being provided.
What youll do
- Lead the squad you have been entrusted with in accordance with the OfferZen values
- Perform the day to day management of the members of the data domain squad
- Ensure that the members of the squad are engaged and motivated
- Using direct input from the Chapter Leads you will run performance reviews and drive career progression of the squad members
- Identify and fill delivery capacity gaps
- Establish good relationships with all data domain stakeholders
- Work with the Head of Data and other Data Domain Squad leads to define and improve the requirements gathering and prioritisation processes that are followed
- Be responsible for the priorities that have been set and what work is being done by the squad
- Engage with the data Chapter Leads to help them ensure that the technical solutions delivered by the team are being done in accordance with the defined methodologies and frameworks for each data discipline
- Facilitate the various sessions that are necessary for the squad and stakeholders to have clear direction and feedback
- Implement high quality, well-structured code in our BI and data platform
- Provide diagnostic and predictive insights to achieve OfferZen strategic objectives
- Curious, yet risk averse
- Leadership or management experience
- University degree or dropped out for an interesting reason
- 5+ years experience in BI analytics and development
- Used to working in small teams
- Good communication skills
- High confidence, low ego
- Capable of backing opinions and decisions with data

OfferZen is on a mission to improve the experience of finding work for people involved in making software, from developers to designers and data scientists through the utilisation of our world class online recruitment marketplace. We do this by flipping the traditional recruitment model on its head and getting companies to reach out to candidates with upfront offers.
Over the last 6 years, we have managed to make a large dent in the South African online tech recruitment marketplace and we're speeding up. We have a team of 150+ people with offices in both Cape Town and Amsterdam. At 6 years young, we're still in an exciting scale-up phase which allows us to develop new and exciting ideas, innovate our product, and think creatively about solving real problems.
