The position
Reporting to General Manager for South Africa, you will be a part of the Leadership Team and be jointly responsible for the Affiliates results. You will be responsible for providing the General Manager support within the financial area and overall business.
You will be responsible for initiating, devising, and implementing policies and processes to enhance the financial performance of the company in accordance with strategic objectives. You will optimise the financial resources of the company to maximize shareholder wealth.
You will be responsible for reviewing and advising on regional activities, plus controlling, and reporting to Business Area Africa (BAAF) management team on financial, administrative, IT aspects of all operations. You will be an active participant in BAAF Finance Forum and work constructively to overall improve BAAF financial control and reporting.
In addition, you will ensure optimal working of and investments in IT and administrative departments. You will oversee Procurement functions and support sourcing activities in line with the ambitions and targets of the affiliate.
Qualifications
- You hold a university degree in economics or finance or other relevant area with a progressive career in finance function and a least 2 years experience in similar position.
- Proven track record as a senior Finance leader in a multinational company within a matrix organization, ideally in the pharmaceutical industry.
- We expect our candidates to be able to communicate effectively in English, discuss strategies in a way that impacts key stakeholders and able to build trusted relationships.
- You are experienced with managing others, coaching, and giving feedback.
The Director Finance & Operations is responsible for the management and oversight of the Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, and IT departments. Reporting to the General Manager South Africa, you will be a part of the Leadership Team, which is responsible for driving business for the South African affiliate. As Finance & Operations Director, you will lead a team of 12 engaged and passionate finance professionals.
