The position of Executive Assistant: Office of the Principal Officer is vacant. The Executive Assistant: Office of the Principal Officer role will report directly to the Principal Officer and forms part of the Office of the Principal Officer Division. The position is temporary for 3 months and will be based at GEMS Head Office.
The total remuneration package for this position is between R541 367 and R676 649 per annum, based on skills and experience
The Executive Assistant: for the Principal Officer will be required to provide support to the Principal Officer through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
- Manage administration for the OPO.
- Drafting and editing correspondence, speeches, presentations, and other materials for the OPO.
- Support the management of the OPO budget.
- Coordinate stakeholder management.
- Manage logistics and travel plans.
- Review correspondence in conjunction with the PO.
- Conduct research on issues pertinent to the PO and the Executive Manager: OPO.
- Coordinate Staff engagement plans; and
- Maintaining the PO's calendar and scheduling appointments.
- Preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items for meetings.
- Screening phone calls, emails, and correspondence, and responding on behalf of the PO and Executive Manager as appropriate.
- Support the coordination of internal and external events, such as conferences and workshops.
- Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, board members, and government officials.
- Drafting and editing correspondence, speeches, presentations, and other materials for the PO and Executive Manager.
- Providing guidance and support to other staff members in the OPO and the business.
- Minimum three (3) year Diploma or Equivalent in Office Administration / Management.
- Five (5) years of office management with which three (3) years at a senior management support level.
- Understanding of stakeholder relationship engagement.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite; and
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and Social Media web platforms.

- Must be in possession of a valid driver's license and own vehicle and be willing to travel at short notice.
