We have a vacancy for a Facilities Officer to maintain the building infrastructure and provide general assistance to the team. You must be willing and proactive to seek innovative ways of improvement.
Your role
- Provide first line preventative and predictive maintenance of electrical, HVAC, building, plumbing systems etc
- Assess and diagnose required repairs and maintenance to building infrastructure eg painting
- Services, repairs or replaces locks, hinges, tiles, wall covering, small paint jobs, hang pictures etc and general maintenance as needed
- Complete daily work orders as assigned and update customers on progress
- Identify when external contractor/vendor is needed and advise the Facilities Supervisor
- Project manage minor external contractor projects in conjunction with the Facilities Supervisor
- Carry out periodic inspections of equipment/infrastructure to check for faults, rectify and comply with regulations and statutory requirements
- Responsible for safety during work, including reporting of hazards both inside and outside of buildings
- Carry out delivery/collection when required
- Ensure that the store is kept clean and organized.
- Assist with receiving and dispatching in the stores environment
- Demonstrate ability to perform a wide variety of maintenance and operational tasks
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Physically fit and must be able to climb ladders, stairs and be able to lift/move up to 20kg weight
- Ability to communicate at a professional level both written and verbally to management, customers, contractors and vendors
- Must have strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to safely operate equipment and tools during maintenance and repairs
- Must have own car and be prepared to work overtime and standby duties occasionally
- Be a team player with ability to work independently
- Must be results driven
- 7 years work experience in Facilities Management
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be able to use a Helpdesk software
- Drivers Licence plus Own Car (Required for Standby duties)
