We're looking for a Financial Controller for:
- Preparation and dissemination of daily revenue reporting to Global Markets management.
- Preparation of weekly and monthly management reports to measure revenues and performance across the Global Markets business in South Africa. The role requires more of an emphasis on in-depth data analysis and value-adding commentaries, rather than pure report generation.
- Preparation of key monthly reconciliations between financial reporting, management reporting and risk management systems.
- Managing and being accountable for ad-hoc business projects from inception to implementation.
- Management of annual tasks such as Annual Financial Statements preparation, external audit co-ordination, income tax and technical accounting reviews.
- Preparation and review of key month-end deliverables such as monthly tax returns (Income Tax, Securities Transfer Tax, Dividend and Interest Withholding Tax), Income Statement and Balance Sheet reconciliations and analytical reviews.
You'll be working in the Finance team in South Africa, supporting our Global Markets business
Your expertise
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 4 - 7 years relevant experience
- Financial services industry experience would be beneficial but not essential
- Previous accounting system knowledge (preferably SAP and or BDA) is beneficial
- Proven track record of project management and process implementation/improvement
- Previous experience in leading a team toward a common outcome is advantageous
- Strong computer literacy required. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is required
- Know-how to develop a robust set of financial controls for a global business
- Analytical and methodical, with great attention to detail
- Excellent communicator who can adapt style to audience
- Ability to deliver results within agreed deadlines and with accuracy and quality
