Role Purpose
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Flooring Installer to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in professionally fitting a variety of floor and wall coverings for both domestic and commercial properties. This role requires the installer to possess a broad range of skills, including accurately measuring and cutting materials and understanding different types of floor coverings such as carpet, vinyl, ceramic, porcelain, stone, laminate, and wood. The installer must also be proficient in using various tools and have a keen eye for detail to ensure a high standard of finish. - Experience in installing a variety of flooring types, including carpets, laminate, vinyl, ceramic/porcelain tiles, stone, and solid wood.
- Ability to measure and cut flooring materials to fit specific areas.
- Good knowledge of safety standards and best practices when installing floors.
- Ability to lift and move heavy flooring materials.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Minimum of four years of experience in flooring installation.
- Certified Floorcovering Installer (CFI)
- National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) certifications
- International Certified Floorcovering Installers Association (ICFI) certifications
- Surface Preparation:
- Inspect and prepare surfaces to be tiled (e.g., walls, floors) by cleaning, leveling, and removing any old tiles or floor finish material.
- Apply waterproofing and other necessary preparations to ensure durability and quality.
- Material Installation:
- Measure and mark surfaces to be finished, ensuring precise layout and alignment.
- Cut and shape materials to fit around obstacles and into tight spaces using hand and power tools.
- Lay materials in a pattern or design, following blueprints or layout drawings as required.
- Apply adhesives, such as mortar or mastic, to the surfaces and tiles.
- Finishing:
- Place and align materials, ensuring even spacing and level installation.
- Apply grout between tiles and wipe off excess to leave a clean, finished surface.
- Seal finished areas to protect them from moisture and staining.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect finished work to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Make any necessary adjustments or repairs to achieve a flawless finish.
- Customer Interaction:
- Communicate with clients to understand their design preferences and ensure satisfaction with the completed project.
- Provide maintenance and care instructions for newly installed tiles.
