GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Media 24's DTP | Production - Division has a vacancy for a graphic designer. The successful candidate will be responsible for advertising design for Media24 dailies and local titles. This position can be based either in Cape Town, PE, Bloemfontein or Gauteng.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric/Grade 12;
• Relevant tertiary qualification in graphic design;
• 1 3 years related experience;
• Experience in designing digital content would be an advantage
• Previous experience in newspaper, magazine or an
• advertising design agency environment;
• Proficiency in CorelDraw (Very Important) , Photoshop, Microsoft Office and
• Adobe design software a prerequisite;
• The incumbent must be willing to work irregular hours and
• shifts when required and have own reliable transport;
• Sound language skills in Afrikaans and English.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Make up and lay out advertisements for the respective
• newspapers, supplements and booklets including Online;
• Support the sales reps with all aspects relating to graphic
• design;
• Handle complete material;
• Source suitable pictures or graphs;
• Retouching of photography and deep etching;
• To manage the production flow of adverts to final print;
• Read content before layout or have a discussion with relevant parties to get an idea of what is required;
• Accurate placement of all adverts;
• Assist when required to design print advertising and print
• material for all marketing communication projects.
• The incumbent must be willing to work late shifts when required and have reliable transport;
