Role Objectives
- Overall leadership and business development for sales of the region
- Maintenance and service to existing brokers and development of a new broker strategy.
- Actively manage and lead a sales team.
- Actively contribute to the growth of the region and Hollard.
- Ongoing portfolio management to ensure profitability in line with expectations
- Develop and maintain effective business relationships with brokers to attract and develop profitable business
- Ensure that new brokers are sourced and on-boarded in line with Hollard guidelines
- Organise day-to-day operations by establishing priorities, assigning work and scheduling tasks.
- Maintain the standards of the business thus enhancing the image of Hollard.
- Ensure all technical aspects and administrative functions within the business are adhered to.
- Active contribution as a member of the local management committee
- Overall responsibility for the growth (including organic growth) within the Region.
- Overall responsibility for sound Broker relationship management
- Regular broker visits with sales team with focus on providing superior service and obtaining new business
- Identify prospective brokers using established lead methods.
- Ensure accurate and timely turnaround times of quotes and broker queries
- People management
- Coaching and support: Providing informal and formal coaching support to team. Ensure that performance contracts and IDPs are in place and reviewed annually.
- Ensure transactions are completed within delegated authority limits and set standards and service level agreements.
- Provide necessary reporting on financial and operational indicators relating to portfolio as and when required.
- Provide feedback (reporting) to management on achievements, pending issues, problems and suggested recommendations
- Account Management.
- Underwriting and Risk Analysis on portfolio
- Assist staff in resolving complex problems while ensuring adherence to standards and objectives
- Management of portfolio. Recommend or implement changes to improve productivity, growth and the quality of an assigned book of business.
- Review segment profit/growth results and trends to recommend and implement action plans to produce profitable underwriting results per Broker
- Make recommendations and take decisions on technical or complex administrative functions within mandates
- Responsibility to ensure that customer service standards are maintained in accordance with service level agreements
- Effective communication with external parties as well as within the branch and Hollard
- Participate with senior management on initiatives around product development, processes, policy and strategy
- Conduct market exercises pertaining to products, prices and competitors
