Role Purpose
Set the strategic direction and drive initiatives to increase Momentum Investments' market share, for the Institutional Investment Platform capabilities, whilst providing decisive leadership for the Institutional Platform team. Focus on cultivating sustainable growth and optimising gross and net margins for the business. This includes fostering key relationships with distribution channels, financial advisers, and asset managers while ensuring the effective promotion of our tailored investment business offerings. The role is dedicated to implementing sales and growth strategies, creating brand awareness, and representing our business at client, industry, and asset manager events, ultimately contributing to the success and expansion of our business via the Institutional Investments Platform.
Requirements
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
- BCom or similar
- Professional designation CFA, CA(SA) preferred
- 8 - 10 years of financial services/investment management/consulting experience
- 5 + years in-depth experience and understanding of the multi-manager asset management framework.
- Knowledge of regulatory framework within which the investment platform and administration services to 3rd party clients are provided.
- Experience in investment unitisation process and environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver client-centric solutions to achieve business strategy (Internal process)
- Keep abreast of investment administration market trends, both national and international, to enable the development and implementation of best practices to optimise service delivery and enhance optimal solutions.
- Ensure that the platform enables clients' value propositions together with optimising for value creation through the appropriate use of internal investment and other solutions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to accurately interpret requirements and transform them into solutions that meet business needs and client expectations
- Provide leadership in the development and management of solutions fit for purpose, leveraging advanced technologies to enhance end-user satisfaction and efficiency
- Implement third-party client investment platforms and administration service offerings on multi-manager infrastructure, catering to bespoke arrangements and hybrid clients.
- Develop and implement strategic investment platform offerings and administration services for administration-only clients, bespoke arrangements on the life insurance balance sheet, and hybrid clients
- To structure and set up investments on the balance sheet of a life insurance company
- Gain insight into the needs of third-party clients to enhance Momentum Investments ability to offer relevant and targeted Investment Administration Services.to current and prospective clients.
- Develop and implement a framework for third-party client Investment platform and administration service business capabilities
- Manage license requirements and mitigate for any risk and problematic financial issues that may arise in the area of accountability
- Source and secure sufficient capacity and skills to deliver and maintain investment administration capability solutions; ensuring that the teams activities deliver the expected value and outcomes.
- Ensure that all activities are designed, developed and implemented in accordance with agreed project management standards, methods and procedures; and ensuring at all times business sustainability and continuity.
- Adapt to changing market conditions and drive innovation in investment administration solutions
- Work closely with the head of institutional distribution, the single manager and multi-manager distribution teams and portfolio managers to drive the institutional platform to be future fit and relevant.
- Be results-oriented and manage a sales and associated revenue target for the capability and within the team members.
- Deliver on the needs of our business partners across Momentum Group to ensure that the institutional platform can empower and deliver on business needs.
- Contribute to sustaining a competitive edge through external networking, benchmarking and representation.
- Define fair and innovative client service practices that will build and contribute to a client service excellence culture which builds enduring and rewarding relationships, allowing team to provide exceptional client service.
- Engage with key stakeholders to identify changing client needs and make recommendations to align service offerings with client needs.
- Drive efforts to improve client service and fair treatment of clients within area of responsibility
- Incorporate client feedback into the enhancement of daily business processes and management operating systems
