We are currently looking for a Manager: Information Technology Network
Role Overview: Role holder is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of an organization’s network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and availability of network services. This role involves both technical expertise and managerial responsibilities, ensuring the network supports the organization's operational and strategic needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and mentor the network engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Assign tasks, monitor team performance, and provide guidance on technical issues.
- Coordinate professional development and training to ensure the team is up-to-date on the latest network technologies and security practices.
- Monitor network performance to ensure minimal downtime and optimal service delivery.
- Use network monitoring tools to identify and troubleshoot issues such as latency, packet loss, and bandwidth bottlenecks.
- Proactively optimize network configurations and protocols to improve overall efficiency and performance.
- Develop and manage the network department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource utilization.
- Monitor expenses related to network upgrades, equipment purchases, and service contracts.
- Evaluate network technology investments to ensure they align with budgetary constraints and return on investment (ROI) goals.
- Engaging with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure delivery aligns with expectations.
- Managing operational and service level agreements with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective relationship building with dependent teams.
- Team adoption of and adherence to policies and practices to ensure effective and compliant delivery.
- Implementation of actions to mitigate the occurrence or impact of risk.
- Planning, recruiting and managing team capacity to ensure the team is fully staffed and equipped with the resources and skillset required for team effectiveness.
- Coaching team members to continuously develop their capabilities, enabling improved performance and company culture.
- Managing employee performance in line with our values and principles.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- 4-6 years of experience in a people management role within IT Infrastructure, preferably Networking.
- In-depth knowledge of network architecture, design, and management.
- Expertise in network protocols, technologies, and best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to network issues.
- Proficiency in network performance monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
- A proven track record of operation management.
- Expanded knowledge base with a deeper understanding of job-related concepts and/or Diploma in Information Technology or a related field - Desirable.
- Understanding of Business domain, Business strategy and Long-Term Objectives.
