- Applying roles in Inspection, Cold Chain, Food Safety and Export Certification related to the specified geographical area.
- Coordinating compliance to prescribed processes, procedures and protocols within the framework of the Agricultural Product Standards Act.
- Ensuring adequate competency levels within the Harmonization framework.
- Inspection and certification of perishable products.
- Inspection of the handling, storage and transport of perishable products.
- Coordinating compliance to prescribed processes, procedures and protocols within the framework of the Perishable Products Export Control Board Act.
- Ensure correct application of quality management systems, procedures and work instructions.
- Ensure adherence to Service Level agreements MOUs and MOAs.
- Ensuring effective two-way communication internal and external.
- Administrative tasks and reporting related to the execution of services.
- To ensure PPECB's values are portrayed to enhance a culture of accountability.
- To ensure compliance to Human Resources policies and procedures.
- To ensure compliance to financial policies and procedures.
- Accept the responsibility of continuous self-improvement in their area of responsibility according to the PPECB performance system.
- Participating in the relief duty roster
- A tertiary qualification in an agricultural discipline.
- Desirable: Completed (AETP) Agricultural Export Technologist Programme.
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of all inspection services relevant to the specified geographical area.
- Competency of product inspection in the listed disciplines below with at least 2 Major Products, 1 Minor Product and Ithrive training:
- Major Products: Citrus (must have) and any following majors: Grapes, Pome, Stone, Avocados, Grain.
- Knowledge on the cold chain disciplines will be advantageous
- Operational planning; training and organizing skills.
- Good communication skills and a team player.
- Computer Literacy (Essential)
- Tablet literacy (Desirable)
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proven track record of taking ownership enabled by responsible and accountable behaviour.
- A valid code 08 driving license and own reliable vehicle (must have own vehicle)
