Job Description: The company is seeking a motivated Junior Analyst or Analyst to join the Corporate Finance team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to kickstart or advance their career in the field of corporate finance. The successful candidate will work closely with senior analysts and managers to support various financial analysis, modeling, and advisory activities.
About company: The company operates as a boutique corporate advisory firm in Cape Town, focusing on two key areas: aiding both direct clients and large corporations in preparing their investee/grantee/portfolio companies for investors, and facilitating capital raising endeavors. Their reach extends across Africa, catering to various industries. With their client-centric approach, strong interpersonal skills are paramount. Although work is primarily remote, they aim to convene at a shared workspace once or twice weekly, as circumstances permit.
Responsibilities
- Successful candidates will be involved in transaction analysis and business support, including:
- Financial modelling the ability to understand a business and the utilize requisite skill with excel so as to translate it into an investor-friendly financial model.
- Supporting senior members of the team throughout transactions (NDAs, mandates, term sheets, etc.)
- Preparation and analysis of company documents/investor materials; brochures, business plans and investment memorandums
- Assisting in company valuations and drafting reports
- Recently qualified Chartered Accountant or B.BusSci Finance graduate (or equivalent) with financial modelling experience. Two years of accounting in university preferred. One to three years working experience is beneficial but can be mitigated depending on field of university study, particularly through exposure to accounting and ability to build financial models. Participation in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program is advantageous but not required
