The Sanlam Retail Affluent (SRA) cluster is responsible for Sanlams retail business in South Africa. SRA provides clients across different market segments (entry-level, middle-income, affluent, professional market and business owners) with a comprehensive range of appropriate and competitive financial solutions. These include traditional life insurance risk and savings products, investment, retirement, health and fiduciary services. Designed to facilitate long-term wealth creation, protection and niche financing, these solutions are engineered around client needs.

Output/Core Tasks
- Provides legal advice, opinions and solutions on a range of insurance and financial services matters relevant to the business.
- Review legal documentation and provide advice on appropriate action.
- Compose responses to dispute relations matters.
- Keep updated on legislative developments and provide legal updates on industry-related matters
- Compile a newsletter on legal and regulatory developments
- Coordinate legal matters requiring external legal assistance.
Role Requirements:
- LLB (or equivalent)
- Higher qualification within the legal field will be an advantage
- At least 2 years legal experience with exposure to the Financial Services industry as an advantage
- Completion of articles and admission as an attorney will be an advantage.
- Excellent computer skills
- Interest in the financial services sector, particularly life insurance, retirement funds and other relevant products
- Working knowledge of legal advice on financial services related matters and review of documentation.
