The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements. Should litigation of a commercial nature ensue, this will also be managed by this legal officer.
Responsibilities
- Drafting and reviewing of commercial agreements, including but not limited to unique memorandums of understanding, client agreements, collaboration agreements.
- Provide legal advice to the commercial team when negotiating agreements, and where required, take over negotiations with the client/partner.
- Identify potential legal risks and propose risk mitigation strategies.
- Review and update existing standard agreements where necessary.
Admitted Attorney with at least 6 years post admission experience.
At least 5 years experience (as either practicing or in house counsel) in drafting commercial agreements as well as tending to the negotiations thereof with the relevant party.

- This role requires an agile mind as most of the transactions entered into are unprecedented.
- Strong drafting skills is an absolute requirement. Being able to identify the risks involved in any transaction and advising on mitigating steps, is equally important.
- Excellent written (and verbal) communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential. The legal department regularly engages with diverse individuals and personalities, making strong relationships crucial. Effective communication with various stakeholders is necessary to receive clear instructions and provide insightful legal advice.
