- Grade 12
- National Diploma: Logistics or Purchasing (Minimum)
- 2 years working experience in a manufacturing environment (Post Grad)

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Sales and Customer Support
- Responses to customers regarding costs, plant and equipment requirements with associated lead times.
- Manage customer orders/product releases
- Communicate and obtain approvals from customers for premium materials/labour due to unforeseen increased demands.
- Maintain delivery performance of customer requirements and avoid penalties (air freight) PPM of 60, 000
- In conjunction with customer sales and engineering team, plan and coordinate logistical issues for all new business (2 5 year strategic planning).
- Provide and effective production control system to ensure production continuity with zero stock outs.
- Monitor production performance and decide appropriate remedial actions to avoid costs.
- Assist with supplier evaluation and selection to obtain maximum value.
- Continually develop with involvement of other disciplines a supply base that meets the operating criteria of the organization.
- Ensure integrity of the Companies materials planning systems is fully maintained.
- Effective and realistic management of raw material holding, work in progress and finish good inventory DOH of 8 days.
- Ensure zero material obsolescence, by detailed forward planning of all engineering and/or model runout charges.
- Manage and control requirements of coated product from suppliers to support customer releases within the agreed period.
- Monitor and reconcile substrate usage receipts.
- Conduct and oversee quarterly audits and agree on discrepancies with its appropriate financial implications.
- Manage and control reclamation process of all coated substrates within the plant.
- Negotiate in conjunction with all other senior team members, realistic handling and scrap allowances with all affiliated customers.
- Source prospective suppliers for all new or planned programs during planning phase, to maximize timing and product cost.
- Continually evaluate suppliers in line with latest technology and continuous improvements to maximize cost downs or at least contain costs.
- Review all in house operations, decide out sourcing options should the proposition be more economical, and vice versa.
- Departmental budget control for each sub section. Budget preparation for AOP
