We are now looking for a Offering Manager to join our team in Johannesburg, Africa.
What will you do in our team?
- Engage with customers to determine needs, extract unrealized benefits and desires.
- Identifies opportunities by identifying telecom and adjacent requirements.
- Develop an industry portfolio of supporting partners in renewables, sustainability, and energy storage (batteries).
- Provides feedback to Vertiv global product teams in the form of unmet needs-benefits and opportunities, including systems and software.
- Recommends the nature and scope of present and future solution by reviewing and documenting customer specifications and requirements, appraising new solution ideas and/or delivery changes.
- Critically assess market data through face-to-face (calling on customers with sales) and data analysis (reviewing CRM and market research data).
- Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.
- Assesses market competition by comparing the Vertiv offers to competitors' offers.
- Brings new products to market and communicate positioning/value proposition by analyzing proposed solution requirements and development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; working with Global Offering Management to establish competitive time-to-launch.
- Introduces and markets new solutions by partnering with MARCOM manager and supporting content requests for sales, advertising, and production.
- Optimize offering by analyzing market needs and Vertiv cross functional performance, targeting an efficient handling to optimize Vertiv profitability and customer experience.
- Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Be seen as the expert in managing and delivering energy, within a telecom.
- Assist in defining the overall global product-solution strategy and roadmap
- Deliver Market Requirements Documents with prioritized features and corresponding justification
- Develop and maintain regional offering following market need
- Be aware and knowledgeable of the competition
- Develop content to be used for sales tools and collateral
- Present solution content and demos to customers and partners
- Brief and train the sales force at sales events
- Act as a leader across functions, within Vertiv and with partners.
In addition to interaction with external customers and partners, this position requires interaction and direct involvement with senior sales and marketing management, sales representatives, solution architects and design engineers, delivery and fulfillment team, Global Offering management and Engineering, Industry Partners, marketing managers as well as other internal departments.
POSITION ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Approximately 25% travel.
What will make you successful?
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Product Manager, Product Marketing Manager, Strategic Business Development Manager, or Technical Marketing Manager
- Demonstrated success defining and launching technology products or solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree Experience working with cross-functional, global team
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Proven ability to work with Partners (external suppliers, distributors, ) to created unified solutions
- Must be able to travel at least 25% of the time
- Technical background, with experience in DC Power products and/or Telecom is preferred, including Software Controls, Energy Storage, Renewables, such as Solar.
