About the position
Currently, the Maintenance Department at Industrial Demo Plant (IDP) in East London, South Africa has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and motivated mechanical professional. Therefore, we are looking for a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Maintenance team.
As a valuable member of our team, your primary focus shall be managing and executing complex specialized design, engineering, development, repair and modification of mechanical equipment and plant, whilst providing advice and assistance to construction, maintenance and operational personnel on all matters relating to plant designs and modification systems.

Responsibilities
Piping Design;
Project Management and execution;
Demonstrate good knowledge of legal requirements, national and international design codes, local standards and company specification;
Identify deviations from legal requirements and develop corrective action/solutions;
Provide mechanical input and guidance;
Update P&ID, PFD and all related functions;
Ensure HAZOP is followed;
Execute Management Of Change process (MOC)
Qualifications
BSC/Btech qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
5 10 Years experience at senior engineer level, with 3 5 years in a leadership position;
Prior experience as GMR2 Appointee highly advantageous, minimum requirement is educational capacity to be certified as such;
Prior experience in mechanical equipment field installation essential;
Be fully conversant in and have grounded knowledge of industry legal requirements;
Candidates who meet Clariter's EE targets will be preferred.
