Key Responsibilities
- Procurement and Supplier Management:
- Place orders with suppliers for CNC carbide tools, metals, and other manufacturing supplies.
- Identify and liaise with new and existing suppliers to obtain competitive quotes for tools and materials.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms of service to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and ensure timely deliveries to avoid production delays.
- Metals and Tools Knowledge:
- Understand the technical requirements for different types of tools and their applications in the manufacturing process.
- Provide recommendations on the best materials and tools based on project specifications and production needs.
- Stock Control and Management:
- Track and manage inventory levels of CNC carbide tools and metals, ensuring appropriate stock is maintained to meet production demands.
- Perform regular stock audits and adjust procurement plans accordingly to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure the accuracy of stock records.
- ISO 9001 Compliance and Process Improvement:
- Ensure procurement and inventory management processes comply with ISO 9001
- Assist in developing and implementing more effective procedures for traceability of tools and materials.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards and practices.
- Administrative and Documentation Support:
- Perform administrative tasks, including filing purchase orders, maintaining supplier records, and tracking order progress.
- Prepare detailed reports on procurement activities, stock levels, and supplier performance.
- Work closely with the accounts team to ensure proper invoicing and payment for all procured items.
- Process Optimization:
- Identify areas of improvement in procurement and stock management processes, and propose solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with different departments to streamline communication between suppliers, the factory, and office personnel.
- Education: Diploma or equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in procurement, stock management, and administrative roles within the tool and metal industry, particularly focused on precision engineering tools.
- Knowledge of Metals and Tools: Strong understanding of various types of metals and their use in manufacturing, as well as a deep knowledge of their applications.
- ISO 9001 Compliance: Experience in working with or implementing ISO 9001 standards, particularly in manufacturing and procurement environments.
- Administrative Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, and QuickBooks, used for inventory and procurement management.
- Communication and Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with excellent attention to detail, capable of managing multiple procurement activities and keeping accurate records.

- Competitive salary of R 10 000 to R 15 000 based on experience.
