The purpose of this position is to assume the overall responsibility for procurement and the accounts payable functions, in order to identify areas of cost optimization and ensure effective functional management and reporting.
Working at NTT
Procurement Management
- Leads and manages procurement operations, policies and procedures
- Manages procurement records and maintains the Companys vendor master file
- Maximises BEE scorecard in terms of procurement and enterprise development
- Defines and develops processes and communicates same to business
- Works closely with senior business leadership on procurement to enable business strategies
- Builds and maintains good relationships with new and existing vendors
- Ensures accurate and timely month-end accruals
- Maximises creditor payment terms and discounts
- Maintains and implements all internal controls to ensure validity, accuracy and completion
- Ensures alignment with VAT and accounting requirements
- Follows up on transactions to ensure that expenditures with vendors and once off suppliers are approved through the purchase order process and in line with the Companys authoritys matrix, timeously
- Assumes full responsibility for timeous completion of travel reconciliations
- Ensures all transactions are accurately recorded
- Alerts management to deviations from the Travel Policy
- Ensures all pass-through costs are recovered timeously
- Reviews and reports on the following:
- Outstanding purchase orders daily
- Creditors ageing analysis weekly
- Cash flow forecasts - weekly
- Vendor spend by category monthly
- Accounts Payable and Trial balance checks monthly,
- Out-of-line situations or anomalies ongoing.
- Interprets information and makes improvement recommendations
- Ensures the development of key capability to deliver departmental objectives
- Recruits and manages direct reports to ensure the Merchants brand remains the employer of choice
- Provides guidance and support to direct reports to ensure a culture of transparency and collaboration
- Identifies strengths and areas for development in direct resources to ensure appropriate allocation of tasks
- Establishes, manages and measures achievable, specific and realistic goals for direct reports
- Ensures direct reports receive opportunities for development
- 3-year degree or national diploma in accounting
- 3 to 5 years experience in a finance department
- Proven experience in procurement and accounts payable
- ERP systems experience
