CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
Reporting to the Director of School, the core purpose of this position is to participate in teaching, supervision and research activities within the Business School with a focus on Executive Education.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Facilitation of Learning and Teaching at postgraduate level with a focus on Executive Education
- Research, creation of knowledge, and publication in scientific journals.
- Supervision of masters and doctoral studies
- Networking with relevant industry stakeholders to establish a national reputation in own field of expertise through consultation and collaboration involvement in policy processes or projects
- Engagement, including initiating sustainable partnerships that are beneficial to the advancement of Executive Education and the Universitys core purpose
- Change leadership and transformation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strategic and lateral thinking
- Proven ability to develop and implement academic strategies
- Proven attributes of transparency, integrity and teamwork
- Expert knowledge of the theory and application in Executive Education Programmes.
- Extensive experience at facilitating learning and programme development within the Executive Education domain.
- Proven experience in the successful supervision of Masters and promoting Doctoral candidates.
- Proven experience in developing and leading Executive Education practices, nationally and/or internationally.
- Excellent and demonstrable understanding of the requisite policy frameworks that guide and regulate Executive Education.
In order to be considered for appointment to this post candidates must possess:
- Relevant Doctoral degree
- Three to Seven years experience in teaching/lecturing/research and industry experience which includes management development activities in the relevant field of Executive Education.
- an expert in the field of Executive Education and preferably also be engaged in the business world
- recognised for her/his industry expertise, nationally and internationally; and, notable contributions to the creation of knowledge, e.g. by extensive research and recent publications both in books and in accredited national and international journals.
