Role

We are looking to appoint a result driven and highly focused Regional Manager who will play a key role in overseeing our operations in West Africa. We are ideally looking for the successful applicant to be based either in Mali, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire or Burkina however we would be open to consider other locations.

What We Expect From You
  • Contribute actively to the company culture, demonstrating and living our values and help curate and preserve our unique culture by active measures, at a personal, team and regional level. Recognise the length of shadow that your management behaviours cast.
  • Keep up to date with current market and technology trends across the region and its nuances to be able to spot strategic opportunities to exploit as well as issues to be aware of.
  • Ensure you and your team collaborate with all necessary functions to support your goals such as technical and support functions, subject-matter experts, regional operations as well as global functions like Licensing, Finance, Products, Segments etc.
  • Proactively provide the Sales Director Mining EMEA with assistance, guidance, reports, and recommendations where necessary in regards to all costs, efficiencies and revenue opportunities.
  • Be prepared to report regularly, in depth by written and verbal reporting on your teams activity and status, as well as risks, opportunities and plans.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning for Mining across the region.
  • Responsible for contributing to the development and performance of all sales activities (Lead to Cash process) in the West Africa region, ensuring the sales and business development activities lead to the achievement of company growth and profitability in your team, across our solutions.
  • Promote the Seequent Brand offering, and value proposition throughout the team, attending conferences, tradeshows and training sessions and seeking marketing and BD opportunities to exploit, either personally, or by others in the team or other functions within the business.
  • Identify new markets and business opportunities.
  • Oversee key deals and negotiations.
  • Utilise all assets available in the region and company to help your team deliver your growth plans.
  • Contribute to the development of the Mining team strategy including headcount, resourcing, budgets, growth plans, marketing, coaching, career development and culture.
Leadership + Autonomy
  • Contribute towards the creation of the commercial and/or technical strategy for the West Africa region.
  • Have a clear understanding of business goals and prioritise/ direct your own work accordingly.
  • Take autonomous ownership of your day-to-day tasks.
  • Mentor and support members of the Seequent team.
  • Hold yourself accountable for agreed goals, responsibilities, and outcomes (as laid out below and others agreed in day-to-day operations with your contract manager).
Sales (Proactive Support) / Revenue Generation
  • Identify and create opportunities by proactively contacting our users and potential users (leads).
  • Conduct demos and webinars and supply information about products prior to sale.
  • Play a key role in delivering our training and project assistance services amongst our user base.
  • Support customers as they trial a product, ensuring they understand how to use the product to effectively meet their challenges.
  • Accurately document all customer interactions in the CRM database.
Marketing and Business Goals
  • Understand Seequent's marketing goals, product roadmaps, development timelines and business goals.
  • Keep in contact with existing and potential customers.
  • Actively monitor customer satisfaction levels and consistently work to improve outcomes and perceptions.
  • Assist, facilitate and support all product upgrades, new releases and new products.
Product/Domain Knowledge
  • Be a very capable and competent user of the products and possess an excellent understanding of the mining production environment.
  • Assist with the testing and technical assessment of emerging products and features. Have the confidence to challenge the product.
  • Learn from the customer in regard to how, what, where and why they are using our product and then feed that information back to the appropriate teams within the business and recording this within the CRM.
Technical Support + Expert Services
  • Provide quick responses to customers, listen effectively to establish issues, be clear and confident in your communications with an ability to provide education and support to all users.
  • Provide remote technical, system support and on occasion, project assistance.
  • Ability to analyse technical issues, confidently ask appropriate questions and work to find a solution quickly.
  • Take ownership of inbound calls and emails in your region and manage them to a successful resolution.
  • Being proactive when communicating with users and take opportunities to complete a user "health check".
  • Patiently and attentively assist customers with difficult to resolve issues and multiple and repeat issues, and being a customer advocate by reporting common and repeat issues to the development and product management teams.
Essential Requirements
  • Must have demonstrated 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Highly knowledgeable and have a good understanding having worked directly in the mining and exploration industry.
  • Ideally, you should have higher education.
  • Have a proven track record of delivering results in a regional, cross-functional, high-growth, and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaborator with excellent negotiation and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Experience building relationships with leaders & peers, anticipating their concerns and successfully advocating for your priorities.
  • Be a person who is positive by nature, driven, intelligent, has integrity, tenacious, and able to provide solutions quickly to any problems or issues which may arise.
  • Highly analytical and have a data-driven mindset with experience reporting on business metrics, trends and using data to drive decision making.
  • Strong sense of ownership with a hands-on approach.
  • You are passionate about new technologies.
