In this role you will
- Manages the short-term planning process by converting the 0 13-week supply plan into an optimized production schedule and implementing appropriate measures to ensure we achieve conformance to plan, make Frequency, Manufacturing Lead-time, Site Days Inventory Outstanding & Inventory Reduction Targets and prepare weekly/monthly reports indicating performance against these targets
- Set up and distribute the weekly production schedule based on pre-determined optimal production run sequences, optimal utilization of available resources and deliver a plan to production for execution
- Record production results and report to the relevant functions to initiate corrective actions and to enhance effective planning, monitor, analyze, and report performance to schedule production activities (Conformance to Plan) utilizing information derived from material and production control systems
- Ensure that the local ERP system reflects the optimized production schedule and/or changes to the schedule, build and maintain Flexible Repeating Schedule process, reviewed quarterly to refresh cycle based on demand changes and site performance
- Escalate supply-related issues to Site Scheduling Manager and Supply Planner, prepare weekly deck on CTP Root Causes Analysis, Material Availability issues and SOLS events (Stock out/Low Stock).
- Work closely with the Supply Planner to drive the Rough-Cut Capacity Process and ensure that it delivers an achievable plan in the 3-month time and jointly work with Materials Planner to ensure availability of materials to meet the supply plan
- Ensure that all 1st touch procurement processes are implemented, and appropriate action is taken to resolve supplier-related issues timeously recommend adjustments to the short-term plan to ensure optimal utilization of resources (people, machines and materials) and maintain the relevant master data relevant to scheduling in order to retrieve up to date data for effective planning (batch sizes, shift patterns, crew factor, demonstrated run rates, C/O, product sequence matrix, cycle times, PM, shutdown calendars, product conversion cost, inventory holding cost, asset depreciation, etc.)
- Jointly work with Procurement to ensure optimum stock levels for both raw materials and components and set appropriate stock levels of inventory, manage phase-out of materials to ensure minimum stock write-off for NPI or artwork changes, and maintain and improve the operating model for the South Africa Supply Chain with all associated Core Commercial Cycle processes (CCC) and systems (e.g. SOLS, SAP etc.) and drive continuous improvement initiatives to deliver Supply Chain KPIs
- Diploma in Supply Chain (or relative experience)
- 1 3 years of experience as a Supply Chain Planning Scheduler or similar role
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems, especially Advance Planning Systems. Computer literate and understands Supply Chain technology.
- Experience using Excel in a supply chain planning scheduler environment
- Willingness and agility to learn in a fast paced environment
- Proven experience as a Supply Chain Planning Scheduler for an FMCG company
- Resilience to manage multiple and varied business contacts, both internal and external, often with different requirements and goals
- Above average interpersonal skills: networking, influencing, coaching and communication skills demonstrated at all levels in the site
- Good English oral and writing skills.
- Strong analytical skill and ability to manage multiple data sources and present in a format that drives effective decision making
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build relationships across the business
- Self-motivated, able to improve performance, confident and resilient
- Ability to handle information, analyse and make decisions
- Problem solving abilities suitable for handling the complex issues
- Strong SAP experience
- Advanced Excel
