An exciting vacancy exists at OR Tambo for an experienced Senior Manager Maintenance Engineering within the Operations Management division.
Key Performance Output
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Regional General Manager, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:
- Support and execute maintenance strategies to support the various asset class strategies and provide feedback to enhance strategy to enable the long-term sustainability of the companys assets and infrastructure.
- Translate organizational goals applicable to area of responsibility as derived from business plan into clear direction, implement effectively and efficiently and ensure that appropriate remedial actions are taken.
- Review value of practices, systems and structures to determine appropriateness in light of the strategic intent and take remedial actions where necessary.
- Provide frameworks and best practices and develop maintenance standards and execution procedures.
- Drive optimal life cycle cost of assets.
- Drive high level of availability, reliability, and operability of mechanical infrastructure/assets.
- Adhere to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP's, operational standards, policies and practices.
- Ensure that maintenance contracts are aligned to ACSA requirement to comply to stakeholder and related legislative requirements to ensure continuous operations.
- Manage overall governance and provide input into contract specifications.
- Ensure effective and compliant contract management and that work is executed in accordance with contract (time frame, SLA, Scope, quality, budget, contractors).
- Compile, manage and account for relevant budgets according to business requirements and specifications.
- Provide guidance on Inventory Management in line with Supply Chain policies and specific spares strategies
- Perform quality inspection on maintenance work done and implement/propose remedial action where necessary.
- Diagnose break down problems and conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective action.
- Oversee commissioning/testing of projects specifications to sign-off on project delivered.
- Provide relevant and specialized technical support in area of expertise to relevant stakeholders to ensure achievement of objectives.
- Implement and manage people development processes such as performance management, succession planning and talent management to meet functional performance standards.
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:
- Bachelors Degree (4 years - 480 credits) in Engineering/ BSC Mechanical / environment is essential.
- 6-8 years operational experience in Engineering (facility maintenance).
- Must be in possession of Government Certificate of Competence (GCC) or should be acquired within 18 months of appointment.
- 4 years People and stakeholder management experience is essential.
- Code B drivers license.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office.
