The Project Finance and Infrastructure Unit work with the Development Finance Institutions, Multilateral Institutions, Government Entities and Private Sector to deliver on infrastructure projects. Our service offerings include Economics, Policy, and Strategy; Transaction Services; and Major Projects Advisory.
Infrastructure is the foundation of civilization and demand for infrastructure is rising with the accelerating pace of globalization and urbanization. The infrastructure gap in South Africa constrains economic growth and leaves the most vulnerable without access to basic services. Our team adds value to our clients on their major infrastructure projects by helping them understand and manage risks associated with their projects. Our approach is a unique offering and can be tailored to meet our clients needs. The team provides project leadership and support throughout the project lifecycle. Our services are integrated from the strategy through to operations, and promote significantly increased transparency to project owners, developers, contractors, and investors.
This role is geared for those with in-depth experience in construction/infrastructure, project management and/or transaction advisory from business case development and feasibility studies, through construction procurement, project financing and project delivery.
This individual will be part of the team leading our practice in the delivery of high-quality services to top tier public and private sector clients by bringing his/her advisory expertise to the team. He/she will be responsible for assisting with delivery on major capital/infrastructure projects, including those for government, private sector, and development partners. Infrastructure sub-sectors include transport, mining, power and utilities, oil and gas, construction, and social infrastructure (Health and Education)
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Manager will assist the Units leadership team in day-to-day engagement management on specific projects and will:
- Assist the Associate Directors and Partner in delivering services to our various clients in the infrastructure sector.
- Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to junior team members.
- Review the work of junior members of the team and provide training where necessary.
- Develop and present client materials including status reports, project reports and presentations.
- Actively participate in the hands-on delivery of projects and programmes which may include project and programme monitoring, review of budget/schedule and governance setup, programme design and development; benefits and quality management; stakeholder management; portfolio management; programme and project planning including milestone management; and risk and issue management.
- Preparation of proposals to target clients and support in business development efforts.
- Maintain relationships with key client contacts.
- Work individually and with different teams of the firm to improve our profile in the infrastructure sector market (through involvement in industry groups, thought leadership, speaking engagements).

- Undergraduate degree / National Diploma in either engineering, built environment sciences, commerce, accounting, economics, development economics, finance, social science, business administration, or management or equivalent.
- Postgraduate degree: MBA is advantageous.
- PRINCE2 or PMBOK accreditation advantageous.
- 8-12 years experience in managing infrastructure and capital projects in any of the major infrastructure sectors.
- Strong Report writing skills and strong Microsoft Excel/Data Analysis skills.
- Proven ability to multitask and ensure effective delivery off competing priorities to meet targets and objectives
- Undergraduate degree / National Diploma in either engineering, built environment sciences, commerce, accounting, economics, development economics, finance, social science, business administration, or management or equivalent.
