Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Management: Oversee the end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payrolls each period. This includes managing employee data, calculations, deductions, and ensuring compliance with local tax laws.
- Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and mentor a team of payroll staff. Provide coaching and development to ensure a high level of accuracy and efficiency within the team.
- System Proficiency: Use SAGE300, VIP, and ERS systems to process payroll, maintain records, and ensure seamless integration with other HR and financial systems.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, labor laws, and company policies. Prepare and submit all necessary statutory filings, including tax submissions, retirement fund contributions, and any other government-required documentation.
- Payroll Queries: Act as the main point of contact for payroll-related queries and ensure that any issues or discrepancies are resolved promptly. Provide clear communication to employees regarding pay, deductions, and benefits.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve payroll processes and systems. Implement best practices to ensure efficiency and accuracy within the payroll team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure that payroll processing aligns with employee records, benefits, and company financial goals.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records for all employees. Ensure secure and confidential handling of all payroll-related information.
- Auditing & Reconciliation: Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy in payroll processing. Investigate and resolve discrepancies as they arise.
- Proven Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in payroll management, with a strong background in overseeing payroll processes.
- Proficiency in Software: Demonstrated proficiency in SAGE300, VIP, and ERS payroll systems is a must.
- Team Leadership: Experience leading and managing a payroll team, with strong leadership and coaching skills.
- In-Depth Knowledge: Solid understanding of payroll legislation, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy in payroll processing and reporting.
- Confidentiality & Integrity: Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong Communication: Excellent communication skills to handle payroll-related queries and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve payroll issues efficiently.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple payroll cycles, handle deadlines, and ensure smooth payroll operations.
- Previous experience in a warehouse solutions or logistics company is a plus.
- Knowledge of industry-specific payroll practices is beneficial.
