The Opportunity ...
We have a Service Technician position in our team in Kirkwood Eastern Cape area.
As a Service Technician you will perform service on equipment manufactured, sold and/or leased by JBT. You will ensure that our machinery is clean, calibrated and performing up to JBT standards. You will overhaul equipment to ensure that machine performance follow JBT and customer standards and support field testing of equipment, diagnosing errors or technical problems and provide proper solutions. You will respond to customer concerns and call outs regarding the performance of JBT equipment. Reporting into our Service Manager you'll communication from the customer site to JBT Head office.
Previous experience as a Service Technician would be valuable but someone with foundational skills and a keenness to learn our equipment is necessary! Finally, you will use your expertise to help with the installation of new and rebuilt JBT equipment.
Requirements for this position:
- Grade 12 with around 3 years mechanical and basic electrical experience.
- Product knowledge within the food processing industry and working with food machinery will be a definite advantage.
- Preference to Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Calibration skills, which can be developed if limited and instrumentation reading ability.
- Driver's license needed.
- Understand technical drawings.
- Commercial ability & awareness.
- Demonstrated skills in leading projects, teams and tasks will be an advantage.
- Work with a team to solve a problem on hand.
- Must be service oriented to handle and resolve problems.
