We are seeking a motivated and organised Ecommerce Photography Studio Assistant to join our creative team in Cape Town.
Role Purpose
The purpose of the Ecommerce Photography Studio Assistant is to support production of high-quality product images and data for eCommerce platforms by efficiently preparing products for photoshoots, assisting the team and ensuring smooth workflow during photography sessions, and maintaining a tidy and well organised studio environment in line with safety standards. This role works closely with the studio team to maintain an efficient photography production process of producing exceptional visual content that enhances the online shopping experience for customers. Key to this role is motivation to thrive, attention to detail, efficient organising skills, and ability to work well under pressure.
Role Description
Photography Support
- Act as a runner between the Photographer and relevant stakeholders, facilitating the smooth exchange of products for photography.
- Assist the Photographer with equipment adjustments and product positioning during shoots.
- Assist the Photographer during photoshoots by adjusting lighting, holding reflectors, and making minor changes to the set as needed.
- Handle and move products with care to avoid any damage.
- Ensure that the shoot area remains tidy and organised throughout the session.
- Unpack and inspect incoming products, ensuring they are free from defects and damage.
- Organise and categorise products for efficient access during shoots.
- Prepare products for photography, which may involve steaming, cleaning, or minor assembly.
- Provide general assistance to the studio team as needed, including fetching props or equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Maintain a well-organised and tidy studio space.
- Keep track of product inventory, ensuring products are returned to their designated storage area after each shoot.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment during photoshoots and while handling equipment.
- Grade 12 or equivalent (essential)
- +1-year experience in a relevant field, such as photography, e-commerce, or similar with basic knowledge of photography equipment and techniques (essential).
- Proficient with MS Office 365 to manage communications and other tasks relating to the function - (desirable).
