To supervise plastic welding (HDPE) department.
To lead, supervise, manage, and provide support to artisans and assistance in the team.
Qualifications/Skills
- Grade 12 qualification / N3.
- Qualified Tradesman (Welding) with a minimum of 10 years experience (Natural gas) as a supervisor.
- Computer Literate (basic skills).
- Valid drivers license
- Experience on working on oil and gas pipelines.
- Sound knowledge of the gas network layout and its equipment, will be advantageous.
- To supervise steel welding and developing of welding procedures and specifications (WPS).
- Perform on-site services including but not limited to: Hot Taps, Line Stops, Double Line Stops, Angle Taps,
- Operate a range of Hot Tapping & Line Stopping equipment in the range of to 42.
- Service and maintain Hot Tap and Plugging equipment for job ready status in accordance with required procedures.
- Travel to sites
- Responsible for equipment setup, pressure testing, precheck function testing, approval for all services provided in accordance with required procedures.
- Performing FAT and SIT testing both in house and in the field as required.
- Sound knowledge of safety and gas related fieldwork.
- Strong technical and leadership skills.
- Above average strategic planning and field execution.
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management principles essential.
- Ability to work within and motivate a team.
- Reading and understanding of technical drawings / road maps.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong people management skills and the ability to deal with a diverse number of people.
- Ability to work well under pressure and stressful situations.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule plus overtime and to perform standby duties.
- Preference will be given to SAGA license holders.
- Experience in building and installation of customer metering stations.
- Adhere to Quality standards and to oversee team quality control and assurance.

- Adhere to all GAS safety practice (OHSACT and all associated legal requirements).
- Timeously address all infringements and report to the Safety officer.
