This is a hands-on technical engineering role with scope to increase your specialization in the areas of data and systems analysis, statistics, AI, architecture and design, DevOps, and team leadership roles.
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
Key job responsibilities
- Design, build, and implement technical solutions to complex problems.
- Get exposure to a range of AWS software products, systems, infrastructure, hardware, networking, and processes.
- Drive automation and refactoring of existing solutions, including incorporating new generative AI and machine learning components.
- Ensure scalability, reliability and efficiency of automation processes.
- Develop new testing frameworks and tools to improve test coverage and efficiency.
- Develop mechanism to collect and analyze usage statistics of the tools and services that our team owns.
- Create dashboards and reporting tools to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks and deficiencies. You will work to reduce complexity and enable greater agility for our team and other teams in our organization.
- Lead reviews of architecture, design, operations, process, or post-incident analysis for your team. You will actively participate in reviews of systems owned by partner teams.
- Influence your teams technical and business strategy by making contributions to team priorities and approach.
- Hire and develop others by leveraging your expertise, coaching, and mentoring.
We work on a broad spectrum of projects of different sizes using different architectures, technology stacks, and programming languages (though the bulk of it is Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, and React). Tasks range from backend development, front-end development, and infrastructure as code. We prepare and review designs, identify and mitigate risks, experiment and share ideas, all with the goal to keep innovating on behalf of our customers.
We engage with stakeholders, build prototypes, keep an eye on DevOps and deployments, and do deep dives on root cause analysis when things go wrong.
You will spend the bulk of your time analyzing systems and writing code. This includes reviewing and approving code contributed by engineers outside of our team. You will be required to participate in on-call rotations to resolve ongoing incidents and these will occasionally occur outside of office hours.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
